MaxMind GeoIP Opt-Out

Our GeoIP geolocation data locates IP addresses to a postal code or larger geographic region, but never identifies a street address. Learn more about this data on our Knowledge Base.

Please Note: MaxMind's GeoIP Services are used by thousands of businesses worldwide. Opting out from MaxMind's GeoIP Services may mean that online businesses have a harder time determining where you are located, and in some cases they may block logins or other features.

If at a later date you decide to submit a Request to Opt In after Opting Out of the Sale, please contact MaxMind directly at privacy@maxmind.com with your request.

Limited Opt-Out Request Please do not sell data associated with my IP address in MaxMind GeoIP services except for country-level geolocation data. Note: Some online services (streaming providers, banks, etc.) need to geolocate their website visitors to a country in order to provide access or services. If you select this option, your IP address in MaxMind's GeoIP services will still be geolocated to a country.

Global Opt-Out Request Please do not sell data associated with my IP address in MaxMind GeoIP services. Note: Selecting this option may impact your experiences visiting certain websites that rely on MaxMind's data. Many online services depend on knowing the location of their website visitors to show the correct language or currency, or provide access to streaming and banking services.

When you click the Submit button, the webform will automatically collect the IP address currently associated with your device and include it in your Opt-Out request. If you have multiple IP addresses to submit, you will need to access this webform from each IP address you are making an Opt-Out request for.

What is the GeoIP Opt-Out: As outlined in MaxMind's Privacy Policy, certain laws and regulations may give you the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information by a business to third parties, subject to certain exceptions as permitted by law. MaxMind may also provide you with the ability to exercise similar options even where it is not legally obligated to do so. Please Note: that when you opt out of a sale, your IP address may be placed on a Do Not Sell list available to our customers through their accounts. Account holders are prohibited from using information on the list for any purpose other than to effectuate your request.
